Written by Jason Derulo serves up many flavors in the sugar-coated video for “Swalla” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. The pop crooner’s sweet factory includes lots of treats and scantily-clad ladies, who lick Derulo Lollipops and drink Derulo Orange Soda while dancing alongside Jason in a pool of water.
Ty makes a cameo behind shades in the Gil Green-directed clip before making way for Nicki. Fresh off her #3PackFromParis, the rap queen delivers plenty of her own eye candy in a latex outfit and Alexander McQueen shades.
Derulo recently spoke about how the collaboration came together. “I never believe in forcing a collaboration,” he told Billboard. “I’m a fan of both of theirs and I thought that they fit the track perfectly. It’s one of those ones that’ll get you up and doing your thing. I feel like it’s gonna stick out on the radio. There’s nothing that sounds like it.”
“Swalla” is the lead single from Derulo’s forthcoming fifth studio album, due this year.
