Chicago native BLVSH Fuego has hit the Chicago hiphop scene hard in the last year. “I feel like artists provide different dimensions of art” was her response when asked does she have any beef with any other female artists. “I love that us (girls) are stepping up and using our voice more and I’m always happier working with other female artists.” She mouthed lyrics from her new release BigDawg. “You beg for his time/ I don’t really give a f bout what he on/ I don’t even like that it’s just his zaza look like Dijon” Her lyrics are a demanding mix of feminism and reality. “I just tell my truth” as she laughs.
Dressed in a mixture of form fitting and baggy covers, she’s among today’s popular underground artists. BLVSH Fuego is a strong voice, traditioned in the likes of artists like Nicki Minaj and Gucci Mane. She definitely has an “it” factor and extremely unique sound. She’s also a writer, model and entrepreneur that has experienced the harsh dating scene causing her to develop a series of raunchy albums titled “The Petty’s”. The 20 something year old artist raunchily raps with a smooth mixture of deep singing about trials and tribs of being young and successful. Her first album dedicated to the petty collection, Petty Vol. 1, demonstrates her ability to cross back and forth between lyricism and harmony. I thoroughly enjoyed it from front to back. Her fans seem to enjoy her presence as she thumbs between apps and laughs innocently to replies. She’s earned a merit for one of Chicago’s best independent albums triggering a relentless stent of album writing to include a 2nd volume of the petty series. This release, scheduled to drop late summer 2021 includes a feature from extremely popular Chicago artist QueenKey. Definitely one of this year’s most anticipated albums from her.
